Luke Chambers keen to see Ipswich Town get season back on track

Luke Chambers admits that he found the international break "tough" following Ipswich Town's defeat at Blackburn, but is determined to now get back to winning ways.

Luke Chambers has insisted that he and his Ipswich Town teammates are determined the get supporters "smiling again" following a shaky run of results.

The Tractor Boys headed into the two-week break on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers, making it one win in six Championship outings.

Ipswich now have a chance to get their promotion aspirations firmly back on track at Portman Road when they play host to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, with skipper Chambers targeting a positive return to action.

"We've been back at this week, training hard ahead of a tough game against Huddersfield," he wrote in his matchday programme notes. "The gaffer gave us all a bit of time off and it was good to get away and spend time with the family but it's never nice when it comes on the back of a bad result as it did at Blackburn.

"We weren't good enough that day, I think everyone knows that, and having to sit and ponder on that defeat rather than having the chance to go out and put it right was tough.

"We're frustrated still but it's given us a chance to get back together and work on a few things and hopefully we can get back to winning ways this weekend and get the fans smiling again. We fancy our chances against anyone at Portman Road and it will be good to get back out in front of our home fans tomorrow."

Ipswich are currently sitting in 12th place in the table, three points off a playoff berth.
