Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes goes on the record to thank fans of his former side Ipswich Town.

Jordan Rhodes has expressed his gratitude towards the fans of Ipswich Town that offered him support during his stint with the club.

The Scotland international came through the ranks at Portman Road, before being sold to Huddersfield Town, who in turn allowed him to join Blackburn Rovers in the summer.

In what was his first outing against Ipswich since his departure from Portman Road, Rhodes scored the only goal of the game on Saturday as Blackburn recorded a 1-0 victory over the Suffolk-based side at Ewood Park.

Following his goalscoring contribution, Rhodes took the opportunity to praise the supporters of his former club.

"I would just like to put it on record that I'm very grateful for all the support that Ipswich supporters gave me, and continue to give me," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "I joined them when I was 15, went through the club's scholarship and left when I was 19. They were really good to me.

"Even now I see the websites and the local newspapers and there is kind words for me and I'm really grateful."

Rhodes has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season.
