Tommy Smith has stated his belief that "five wins" will keep Ipswich Town in the Championship this season.
As it stands, the Suffolk outfit are 19th in the league standings, four points above the relegation zone.
With that in mind, New Zealand international Smith has told his teammates that five victories from their remaining 12 encounters should be enough for them to retain their status in the second tier.
"I would aim for five wins and the gaffer has said to us that if we can get five wins, that should see us through," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "Millwall went down with 52 points in 1996 which I think is a record so we have got to be aware of that, but if we beat that tally, I will be confident of us staying up."
Next up for Ipswich is a home match against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
