An 85th-minute strike from David McGoldrick gave Ipswich Town a vital win over Leicester City in the Championship this afternoon.
The Foxes were the first to carve out a goalscoring opportunity, with Ben Marshall testing Ipswich keeper Stephen Henderson with a right-footed drive in the third minute.
It was an uneventful 45 minutes, but Nigel Pearson's side came close again in the 27th minute when Harry Kane let fly with his right foot, missing to the right of goal.
Ipswich came closest through Michael Chopra seven minutes before the break, the striker forcing an impressive save out of Kasper Schmeichel with a right-footed drive.
Mick McCarthy's side almost broke the deadlock early in the second period when McGoldrick tested the Dane with his left foot, but the Leicester keeper parried his effort clear.
Leicester dominated the remainder of the game but were hit by a sucker punch late on. McGoldrick found the bottom corner from inside the box in the 85th minute to steal all three points.
