David McGoldrick scored twice as Ipswich Town extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Tractor Boys secured a 2-0 half-time lead through a couple of headers from McGoldrick and Luke Chambers respectively, before the former struck once more shortly after the break to provide his team with an unassailable lead en route to helping Town to fifth place in the Championship table.
Mick McCarthy's men started the brighter and could have gone ahead inside just three minutes, with Daryl Murphy cutting inside Yun Suk-Young before drilling his effort off the legs of goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.
However, McCarthy would not have much longer to wait before seeing his side edge into the lead, as McGoldrick rose highest to head home an Aaron Cresswell corner on 24 minutes.
Things got better for the visitors just six minutes later as Ryan Tunnicliffe's cross was met by the head of Chambers, who thumped home his team's second on the half-hour mark.
Paul Dickov's men came close to halving the deficit close to half time, with goalkeeper Dean Gerken forced into a good save to tip Mark Duffy's free kick onto the frame of the goal.
Ipswich emerged from the interval much the better of the two sides, and it was not long before the visitors trebled their advantage. McGoldrick collected a pass from Murphy before producing a tidy finish to provide Rovers with a mountain to climb.
The task at hand proved insurmountable for Dickov's side as Town held out for an impressive victory.
