Ipswich Town will reportedly look at Newcastle United left-back Shane Ferguson after losing out on Aaron Cresswell to West Ham United.
The 22-year-old had a disappointing year on loan at Birmingham City last term, and Newcastle may be ready to offload the Northern Ireland international, according to The Chronicle.
Ferguson has two years left on his St. James' Park contract but Mick McCarthy could bring him to Portman Road for around the £1m mark, the report suggests.
Pre-season training began on Friday for the Magpies, and Ferguson is set for talks with Alan Pardew about his place in the manager's plans.
Wolverhampton Wanderers were said to be keen on the player 12 months ago but have since cooled their interest.
