Italy head coach Antonio Conte has confirmed that Andrea Pirlo will miss the Euro 2016 qualifier against Azerbaijan due to an adductor injury.
As Conte prepares his side for a game which could see Italy qualify for next summer's tournament with a win, an injury suffered in training means that they will be without the veteran midfielder on Saturday.
"Andrea will be unavailable for tomorrow's match," Conte told reporters.
"He was injured today in training, he made a strange movement and pulled up with an adductor injury. It's a shame, because of what he brings on and off the pitch.
"I hope he'll be able to recover for Norway."
Italy finish their campaign at home to Norway on Tuesday night.
