Cesare Prandelli has admitted that he is desperate for his Italy side to triumph against Denmark in an intriguing World Cup qualifier this week.
Italy have come under scrutiny for recent performances, despite beating Armenia 3-1 last weekend.
The Azzuri coach thinks that victory over the Danes in Milan could go a long way towards securing a place on the plane to Brazil in 2014.
Prandelli told reporters at the pre-match press conference: "I have respect for the press, but from home it's difficult to judge a football match. I don't want to give any advantage to the opponents.
"Denmark are a well-organised team, but we need the three points. If we can manage to earn those it would be an important step in a very balanced group."
Italy are top of Group B after taking seven points from their opening three qualifying matches, while Denmark have drawn their first two group games.
