Italy have announced that Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli and Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza have both withdrawn from their squad ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia.
The duo were included in Antonio Conte's 28-man squad for Friday's match, as well as a friendly against Portugal in Geneva next week.
However, a statement from the FIGC said: "The Juventus defender Barzagli and the Sassuolo striker Zaza have left the training camp due to lack of fitness."
Zaza has been struggling with a back injury, while Barzagli has not had a chance to recover from the Champions League final, having struggled with an injury in training last week.
