Juventus centre-back Bremer is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with the Bianconeri.

Amid their impressive early exploits in the 2023-24 Serie A season - sitting second in the table with 29 points from their first 12 games - Juventus have been working to secure the futures of several key players.

On Tuesday, the Old Lady confirmed that midfielder Nicolo Fagioli - who is serving a seven-month suspension for illegal betting - had signed a new long-term contract until 2028 with a salary increase.

Fellow lynchpin Manuel Locatelli also penned fresh terms earlier this month, while Federico Gatti, Fabio Miretti, Arkadiusz Milik and Kenan Yildiz have extended their stays over the past few months too.

Juventus could soon announce yet another renewal for one of their key players, as journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement will soon be reached with Brazilian centre-back Bremer.

The former Sao Paulo youngster made a name for himself during a four-year spell at Torino from 2018 to 2022, convincing Juventus to splash out €41m (£35.9m) on his signature last year.

Bremer had big shoes to fill in Turin as Juve began preparing for life without Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini, but the South American has risen to the challenge in Turin, ending his debut season with five goals and one assist from 43 games in all tournaments.

The 26-year-old has started the 2023-24 campaign in an equally positive manner, starting all 12 of his side's Serie A games this term and scoring his first goal of the campaign in a 2-1 win over Cagliari last weekend.

Thanks to Bremer's exploits in the backline, Massimiliano Allegri's side have already kept eight clean sheets in the Italian top-flight campaign - level with leaders Inter Milan - including six successive shut-outs between September 26 and November 5.

A mere seven goals conceded is also the second-best defensive record in the division behind Inter's six, and Bremer has earned regular call-ups to the Brazil squad since making the move to Juventus, playing two matches at the 2022 World Cup.

Bremer's current contract with Juventus does not expire until the summer of 2027, but Romano stats that the Bianconeri will extend his stay for another 12 months, and he will be expected to receive a pay rise to reflect his stellar performances.

The ex-Torino man was on the bench for Brazil's 2-1 defeat to Colombia in Thursday's World Cup 2026 qualifier, which left the Selecao fifth in the CONMEBOL rankings ahead of next Wednesday's meeting with reigning champions Argentina.

Meanwhile, Juventus make their return to action after the international break with a mouthwatering top-of-the-table clash against Inter at the Allianz Stadium on November 26. body check tags ::
