Christian Eriksen was reportedly close to joining Juventus before the Italian champions switched their attention to Dejan Kulusevski.
Juve completed the signing of 19-year-old Kulusevski last month before allowing the attacker to remain on loan with Parma for the rest of the 2019-20 campaign.
According to Calciomercato, the Old Lady seriously considered a move for Eriksen throughout December but were only interested in signing him on a free transfer this summer.
The report claims that Inter Milan thought that they were in pole position for Kuluveski and missing out on the teenager made them determined to secure a deal for Eriksen.
The Denmark international ultimately joined Antonio Conte's side on January 28 with the Italian giants paying Tottenham Hotspur close to £17m to secure his services.
Eriksen, who would have seen his Spurs deal expire this summer, has featured twice for Inter since arriving at San Siro, including against Udinese in Serie A on Sunday.
