Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is reportedly en route to Germany to meet officials from Schalke 04 over a move for Julian Draxler.
The 21-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in European football, has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club in recent transfer windows.
According to Goal.com, Juve are now pressing ahead and will offer in the region of £17m for the attacker, who can play in a number of forward positions.
The same report, however, has claimed that Schalke will hold out for £24.5m for a player that still has three years left on his current deal.
Should Draxler arrive at the Serie A champions, he could fill the gap expected to be left by Arturo Vidal, who is on the verge of completing a transfer to Bayern Munich.
