Paderborn have extended their winless Bundesliga run to nine matches with a goalless draw against FC Koln.
A bright start from the home side should have brought a goal, but Pawel Olkowski miscued the best chance of the first half after forcing his way into the box.
Paderborn were forced onto the back foot for much of the first half and they were given another scare before the interval when Lukas Kruse pushed away a powerful low strike from Bard Finne.
However, the visitors should have been ahead just after the interval when Suleyman Koc delivered a cross to Elias Kachunga, whose strike was kept out impressively by Timo Horn.
Despite Paderborn's improvement, Koln continued to ask most of the questions and only a lack of cutting edge in the final third prevented them from securing the three points.
The deadlock should have been broken in the final minute of normal time, but Kazuki Nagasawa's failed to make the right contact with his shot after latching onto a loose ball, allowing Kruse to make a comfortable save.
