Las Palmas have confirmed the sacking of head coach Paco Herrera following a disappointing start to the season.
One victory in their opening eight La Liga games has left Las Palmas 19th in the table, and the club have reacted to the poor form by parting company with Herrera.
The 61-year-old was appointed in July 2014 and guided his side to promotion to the top tier of Spanish football via the playoffs, before being handed a new contract in the summer.
"Las Palmas thanks Paco Herrera for his dedication, professionalism and warmth from the first day he assumed control of the first team," a club statement read on Monday.
"We wish him success for the future knowing that he has written one of the happiest pages in the history of this club - the return to the Primera Division."
It remains unclear whether a new head coach will be in place before the visit of Villarreal on Sunday.
