Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that the club could swoop for Celtic striker Georgios Samaras in January.
The Greece international has long been a target for the Rome-based club and Tare has refused to rule out the prospect of prolonging their interest in luring the 28-year-old - whose contract expires in the summer - to the Italian capital next month.
"Samaras is a footballer I really like personally," the Albanian told the Daily Record. "We were previously interested in him four years ago if I remember correctly, but nothing happened.
"Next week we will sit down with our manager Vladimir Petkovic to determine our movements in the transfer market."
Samaras has struck five times for the Scottish giants in all competitions this season - including a consolation in the 6-1 Champions League defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou earlier this month.
