  • Liverpool 'identify' two targets to replace out-of-contract Van Dijk

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk pictured on August 25, 2024

Liverpool have reportedly shortlisted both Jan Paul van Hecke and Nico Schlotterbeck as potential replacements for club captain Virgil van Dijk this summer.

The Dutch defender is yet to commit his future to Liverpool, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, after six-and-a-half successful years at Anfield.

Van Dijk has been ever-present in Arne Slot's Premier League side this season, with the Reds on the cusp of winning a second title in five years, thanks heavily to the impact of the 33-year-old.

Currently earning north of £200,000-per-week, no agreement has yet been reached or publicly announced about new terms being agreed between player and club, meaning Van Dijk could depart, along with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.

Two European clubs 'in pole position' to sign Bellingham

Two European giants are allegedly viewed as the frontrunners to sign Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham.

Despite being just 19 years of age, Bellingham has already racked up 101 appearances in the Championship, contributing 11 goals and four assists.

Having initially been handed senior football by Birmingham City, the prospect has established himself as one of the brightest young stars outside of the Premier League.

However, having played a key role in keeping Sunderland in the promotion race this campaign, Jude Bellingham's younger sibling has only enhanced his stock.

Real Madrid-linked Saliba breaks silence on Arsenal contract talks

William Saliba makes a revelation regarding his future at Arsenal amid speculation regarding a potential switch to Real Madrid.

Since being finally handed his chance in the Gunners first team at the start of 2022-23, Saliba has established himself as one of the world's best centre-backs.

A total of seven goals and two assists have come from 121 appearances in all competitions, the France international forming a resolute and consistent partnership alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.

There is an argument that their central-defensive relationship is the strongest in world football, yet Arsenal's ongoing failure to win silverware has led to talk about the 23-year-old's long-term future.

Liverpool make Quansah loan decision ahead of summer transfer window?

Liverpool reportedly make a decision on the short-term future of defender Jarell Quansah.

On the back of a loan stint with Bristol Rovers in 2022-23, Quansah was promoted to the senior setup by then-manage Jurgen Klopp.

Since then, the academy graduate has gone on to make a total of 53 appearances for the Merseyside giants in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists.

However, since being withdrawn by Arne Slot in his first competitive game in charge, Quansah has struggled to earn regular minutes for the Premier League leaders.

Liverpool boss Slot 'approves' £38m signing of Premier League star

Arne Slot has reportedly given the green light for Liverpool to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez this summer.

The Reds have been quiet across the last two transfer windows, but that has not stopped them from excelling on all fronts since the appointment of Slot, whose team boast a 15-point lead at the Premier League summit, have an EFL Cup final to look forward to this weekend and are still competing in the Champions League.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are expected to delve into the summer transfer market to reinforce Slot's squad ahead of next season and the Merseysiders have been tipped to strengthen in the left-back department.

The long-term futures of Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are believed to be uncertain, with the former entering the final year of his contract at Anfield in the summer.

Ratcliffe supports Amorim's hardline stance on Rashford at Man United

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has explained why he supported Ruben Amorim and the hardline stance he took with Marcus Rashford.

Rashford scored the very first goal of the Amorim era at the end of November, but he quickly fell out of favour under the Portuguese and was eventually exiled from the first-team squad.

After being dropped for the Manchester derby in December, Rashford revealed that he was "ready for a new challenge" and has not been seen in a Red Devils shirt since, after Amorim cited underwhelming performances in training and general behaviour around the club as his reason against selecting the forward.

The 27-year-old academy graduate had spent his entire career at Man United, before leaving in the January transfer window and securing a loan move to Aston Villa, where he has made eight appearances in all competitions.

'Shocked if they both stay' - Does Martinelli still have a future at Arsenal?

It would be 'shocking' if Arsenal kept both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard at the club for the 2025-26 season, Gunners expert Charles Watts believes.

Mikel Arteta unexpectedly welcomed Martinelli back from a hamstring problem during Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United, where he replaced Ethan Nwaneri for the final half-hour.

While Martinelli's return was an unexpected boost, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka's absences means that 30-year-old Trossard is Arsenal's most senior fit attacker, but the Belgian has blown hot and cold this season and is out of contract in 2026.

Meanwhile, Martinelli could also leave for free in 2027 if Arsenal do not trigger the one-year option in his existing terms, although the Gunners are said to be planning to reward the Brazil international with a new contract in the near future.

'Inevitable one of them will leave': Ederson, Ortega futures at Man City discussed

Manchester City expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany believes that it is "inevitable" that at least one of Ederson or Stefan Ortega will leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Both goalkeepers will soon be entering the final year of their contract at the club and have endured patchy runs of form when called upon by Pep Guardiola this season.

Ederson has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football during his eight-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, where he has won six Premier League titles and three Golden Gloves.

Man City 'will accept' summer offers for 'unhappy' first-team player

Manchester City are reportedly ready to part ways with attacker Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old joined the Citizens from boyhood club Aston Villa in August 2021 for £100m - both a club record and then British transfer record fee.

Grealish has since played 151 times for Man City in all competitions and has won seven trophies, including three Premier League titles and one Champions League.

The England international was a key cog in the Citizens' machine that won a historic treble in 2022-23, but he has since struggled with a few injuries and when available has failed to make a meaningful impact in games.

Ratcliffe issues emphatic update on Mainoo, Garnacho sales at Man United

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has delivered an emphatic update on the futures of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho at Old Trafford.

Both Mainoo and Garnacho are regarded as important first-team players for the Red Devils, but speculation over their long-term futures at the club have lingered in recent months.

It has previously been reported that Man United would reluctantly consider selling both home-grown players as their exits would represent pure profit under the Premier League's financial rules.

Big spenders Chelsea were linked with a move for Mainoo during the January transfer window and it is understood that they still hold an interest in the 19-year-old midfielder.
