Leeds United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Joel Robles on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old moves to Elland Road after his contract with La Liga outfit Real Betis expired earlier this summer.
After four years with Los Verdiblancos, Robles has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Leeds until the summer of 2023.
The Spaniard has become Jesse Marsch's eighth signing of the summer window after the arrivals of Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra and Sonny Perkins.
Robles, who has previously played for both Wigan Athletic and Everton in the Premier League, is now set to provide competition for Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson between the sticks.
Speaking to the club's official website on his arrival at Elland Road, Robles said: "I'm really excited to be back in the Premier League four years later.
"This is a fantastic club, I'd like to thank Leeds United for this great opportunity to come back, this is a special football club and I'm excited to come here.
"There are very good fans here and a very good squad as well and I think this is a good option for me to keep growing.
"My objective this season is to have a positive mentality, work hard and help my teammates, to help achieve our overall objectives as a team.
"We have three goalkeepers here now and we'll work together to help the team, this is the objective for everyone.
"At 32 I have a lot of experience behind me, the two goalkeepers are 21 and 22 and I will try to help them.
"It was the best start with three points at home, we played very well and I hope we keep this mentality for the next game against Southampton."
Robles began his professional career with Atletico Madrid, where he made seven senior appearances before joining fellow Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on loan.
The goalkeeper then spent the second half of the 2012-13 season on loan with Roberto Martinez's Wigan and played at Wembley Stadium in their historic FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.
Robles then followed Martinez to Everton in the summer of 2013 and spent five years at Goodison Park, keeping 25 clean sheets in 65 appearances across all competitions.
The Leganes-born stopper has since plied his trade with Real Betis, but was regarded as a backup option by Manuel Pellegrini and featured only three times in the Copa del Rey last season.
Robles will now be hoping to feature in Marsch's matchday squad for Leeds' Premier League trip to Southampton on Saturday. body check tags ::
