Leeds United 'to reject Crysencio Summerville bids amid Burnley interest'

Leeds United reportedly have no plans to sell Dutch attacker Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window, despite interest from Burnley, Everton and Bournemouth.

Leeds United are reportedly prepared to reject bids for winger Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window, with Burnley and other Premier League sides interested.

The 22-year-old stayed at Elland Road in the summer despite the Whites being relegated to the Championship, leading to a host of first-team stars moving away.

Summerville has been a key figure for Daniel Farke's men so far in their promotion push, scoring six goals and providing four assists, including match-winning braces against Huddersfield Town and Norwich City.

The attacker joined the Yorkshire-based club from Dutch champions Feyenoord in the summer of 2020 for £1.3m, and he has since appeared 55 times - 34 of those in the Premier League.

According to Football Insider, Leeds have already decided their transfer stance surrounding Summerville ahead of the window opening in the New Year.

The report claims that the Whites are set to snub any offers for the Dutchman in January, with the player supposedly not for sale as Farke's side attempt to escape the Championship at the first attempt.

It is understood that Summerville was the subject of intense interest during the summer transfer window, as a group of top-flight clubs circled around one of Leeds' prized assets.

Burnley were said to have submitted a bid in the region of £20m for the former Netherlands Under-21 international following the Clarets' promotion from the second tier in May.

Despite a respectable offer from the Turf Moor club, Leeds opted against an agreement and were able to retain the services of Summerville past September 1.

With the winger's current terms at Elland Road expiring in the summer of 2026, the Whites are in no rush to sell a man who won the club's Player of the Month award for October.

It has also been claimed that Sean Dyche's Everton and Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth are in the race for Summerville, who is being valued at £25m by Leeds.

Both the Cherries and the Toffees look set to be involved in a battle for top-flight survival this term and are two sides that struggle to regularly find the net.

Farke and the Leeds hierarchy are reportedly convinced that Summerville's value will skyrocket should the Whites gain promotion to the Premier League, with the attacker marching towards double figures in both goals and assists in the Championship.

After handing league leaders Leicester City only their second loss of the season on Friday night, the Whites host newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road before the international break, with the gap to second-placed Ipswich Town now sitting at seven points.
