Newcastle United are reportedly trying to complete the signing of Leeds United youngster Alex Mowatt.
The 20-year-old scored nine Championship goals from midfield for the Whites last season.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle have been attempting to force through a move but Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is reluctant to sell the player.
Mowatt, who is believed to be valued at £8m, has previously been linked with Premier League sides Everton and Aston Villa.
He signed a new contract with Leeds last summer which will keep him at Elland Road until 2017.
