Leeds United striker Billy Paynter has edged closer to the Elland Road exit door after he joined Blackpool on a week's trial.
It was announced in May that Leeds had made the former Swindon Town striker available for transfer and it appears that Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is looking to hand Paynter a chance at Bloomfield Road.
The 28-year-old has failed to recapture the goalscoring touch he found at Swindon, where he netted 29 goals in the 2009-10 season to seal a move to Leeds.
However, injuries have restricted him to just 27 appearances over two years at Leeds, scoring just three goals, and it now appears he will be exiting the Yorkshire club in the near future.
