Everton are reportedly set to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United.
After arriving in Yorkshire from Zurich last summer, Gnonto went on to register four goals and four assists in 28 competitive appearances.
Despite putting in a number of impressive performances, the 19-year-old was unable to prevent Leeds from being relegated to the Championship.
Although Gnonto has four years remaining on his Leeds contract, he has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
According to Sport Italia, Everton are on the verge of completing a €22m (£19m) transfer for the Italy international.
The Toffees appear to have moved ahead of Premier League rivals Aston Villa, who are believed to be showing an interest.
In another story that involves the Toffees, Southampton are reportedly in talks with Everton over a deal for defender Mason Holgate.
Since joining the Merseyside club in 2015, Holgate has gone on to feature in 149 games, chipping in with five goals and five assists.
However, after having to settle for just nine competitive appearances last term, Holgate is expected to leave the club this summer.
Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United have already been linked with the 26-year-old, but they are now facing competition from Southampton, who are hoping to build a squad that can win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
According to The Telegraph, the Saints are interested in signing the Everton man, and they are in discussions over a potential move.
With Holgate comfortable playing as a centre-back and on the right side of the defence, his versatility could benefit Russell Martin's Southampton side.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United have reportedly added Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno to their list of transfer targets.
With the Magpies set to compete in the Champions League next term, they are keen to strengthen in a number of positions, including on the left side of defence.
Antonee Robinson was considered prior to signing a new long-term contract with Fulham, leaving Newcastle to turn their attention to Arsenal's Kieran Tierney.
While Tierney is considered Newcastle's top left-back target, Football Insider is reporting that Newcastle are also keeping tabs on Bueno.
The report claims that Newcastle are still yet to table an official offer for the Spaniard, who is under contract until the summer of 2025 with an option for a further year.
The 20-year-old joined Wolves' academy in 2019, and he has worked his way up to the first team where he has made 23 appearances across all competitions.
As for Nottingham Forest, they are reportedly set to submit a £1.8m bid for Hertha Berlin forward Derry Scherhant.
Forest have been keeping tabs on Scherhant ever since he scored in a pre-season friendly against the Tricky Trees last summer.
Scherhant spent the 2022-23 campaign split between the first team and Hertha's reserve side, who compete in the fourth tier of German football.
The young forward scored his first competitive goal for the club in February's 4-1 Bundesliga victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.
Having seemingly been impressed with Scherhant's progress, Football Insider are reporting that Forest are preparing to table a £1.8m offer for Scherhant.
Steve Cooper's side believe that Hertha's relegation from the Bundesliga last term could tempt the German club to part ways with the striker.
