Leicester City full-back Ryan Bertrand is set to undergo surgery, as confirmed by Brendan Rodgers.
The 32-year-old suffered a knee injury on Boxing Day ahead of the match against Manchester City, with the issue occurring during the warm-up before the match, and he has been out of action since that point.
Initially, it was thought that he would be back to face Watford in the FA Cup, but the situation still has not improved, and now he will be going one step further in order to push his comeback.
"Ryan Bertrand has an operation on Tuesday on his knee that he twisted at Man City," Rodgers confirmed to the press.
There is no timescale on when the former Chelsea star will be back in action, with Bertrand having only made four appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
The Foxes will next be in action on February 6 when they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.
