Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has suffered a fresh injury setback, according to a report.

The 28-year-old featured in 28 Premier League matches last season, but he suffered a broken leg during a pre-season friendly against Villarreal and has been absent since then.

According to Football Insider, Fofana has been dealt a setback on his recovery, which is now going to see him out of action for a longer period of time.

The Foxes had originally expected him to be back in early 2022, but that now appears to not be the case, with Brendan Rodgers set to be without him for longer.

Fofana has been seen training with a ball previously as he prepares to make his return to the pitch, but it is currently unknown when he will be able to play again.

Leicester City will be back in action on Wednesday when they face Tottenham Hotspur. body check tags ::
