Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted that a cup run will benefit his side's push for promotion from the Championship this season.
The Foxes came out on top in a seven-goal game to knock Premier League side Fulham out of the Capital One Cup last night, and Pearson is convinced that it won't be detrimental to their league campaign.
He told BBC Radio Leicester:: "A positive cup run really does help the league situation.
"I've never, ever seen the cup, either as a player, manager or coach, as being a hindrance to league form."
Leicester will find out their opponents for the quarter-finals following tonight's final three last-16 games.
