Leicester City have identified Benfica's Odysseas Vlachodimos as a potential replacement for goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer, according to a report.
It was reported on Tuesday that Leicester's current number one Schmeichel had agreed a move to Ligue 1 side Nice, as he seeks a new challenge following 11 years at the King Power Stadium.
However, the same report stated how the Foxes were not willing to sanction a move for the Denmark international until they had found a replacement ahead of the new season.
Brendan Rodgers' search has not taken long according to Portuguese outlet Record, who report that the Benfica shot stopper is being lined up, a move which would allow Schmeichel's proposed transfer to France to be sanctioned.
The report suggests that Benfica would be willing to sell the 28-year-old for between £12.5m and £17m, but that Leicester are yet to submit an official offer despite their interest.
Vlachodimos played 32 of Benfica's 34 Primeira Liga games last season, keeping 10 clean sheets along the way in his side's disappointing third-placed finish, which left them 17 points worse off than champions Porto.
However, following the appointment of Roger Schmidt in the dugout, it is suggested that the Greece international has lost his number one spot in Lisbon ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The goalkeeper made the move to Portugal for around £2.1m from Panathinaikos back in 2018, and has gone on to make 169 appearances for Benfica during his four-year stay so far.
