Riyad Mahrez has admitted that he had never heard of Leicester City before he signed for the Foxes in 2014.
The Frenchman has been pivotal in Leicester's surprise Premier League title bid, having scored 14 goals and providing 11 assists.
The winger moved to the King Power Stadium from Le Havre for a fee of around £320,000 almost two years ago.
In an interview with FourFourTwo for the magazine's April issue, Mahrez said: "I didn't know Leicester. In France we didn't really [know them] because they were in the Championship. I thought they were a rugby club.
"I was like, 'I don't know.' But then I came here to see the facilities and they were good. I do not regret signing for them, it's the best club I've ever been at."
Mahrez's form has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona and Arsenal.
