Leicester City striker David Nugent has revealed that he hopes to earn a recall to the England setup this season.
The 29-year-old scored during his only appearance to date for the Three Lions against Andorra back in 2007.
With players such as Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez finding themselves in the England squad in recent times, Nugent believes that a successful campaign in the Premier League could put him in Roy Hodgson's thoughts.
"I've just turned 29 and there aren't a lot of English strikers who scored a lot of goals in the Premier League last season," he told The Independent. "Hopefully I can score a few goals, get in that window and see what happens."
Leicester start their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they welcome Everton to the King Power Stadium.
