Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has said that he is unsurprised by his impressive form this season.
Mahrez has scored five goals in seven appearances so far this term, and says that manager Claudio Ranieri has given him more confidence in his play.
"Last season I was like that as well but did not have the success, now this year I have scored," he told Sky Sports News. "The manager has given me a lot of responsibility and has given me a lot of confidence.
"I'm not surprised about what I can do. I knew I could do things like this."
The Algeria international added: "It is more difficult for me now that [opponents] know me - they will close a lot. So I have to be careful now, they will start to kick me, the manager said to me as well."
Mahrez joined Leicester from French side Le Havre in January 2014 and has since made 58 appearances, contributing 12 goals and 11 assists.
