Leicester City are ready to offer £3m for West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox, according to The Mirror.
The Championship side are keen to strengthen their squad after losing two of their opening three league matches.
Leicester had been pre-season favourites to win the Championship after manager Sven-Goran Eriksson spent £8m on new players during the summer.
Eriksson is now keen to bring in a new striker and has said to have turned his attention to Cox after bids for Bristol City's Nicky Maynard and Everton's Jermaine Beckford were rejected.
Cox has found it difficult to secure a regular first-team place at West Brom and his chances of becoming the main striker were reduced when Peter Odemwingie signed a new contract at the Hawthorns on Thursday.
The 24-year-old has scored 10 goals in 47 appearances since joining West Brom from Reading in 2009 for £1.5m.
