Leicester City are considering a bid for Metz defender Bobakar Kouyate, according to a report.

The 24-year-old has impressed during the Africa Cup Of Nations while playing for Mali, and he is quickly gaining attention for his performances in the league as well.

According to The Sun, Leicester are now looking at Kouyate as a potential late signing in the transfer window, and he could be available on a loan-to-buy offer, with a fee of £16m if the transfer became permanent.

However, the Foxes are not the only team taking a look at the defender, as Lyon are also interested in signing him, with Brendan Rodgers initially wanting a routine loan deal.

As well as that, other teams in the Premier League are keeping tabs on his situation for a possible late swoop, with Southampton and Aston Villa also in the market.

The Foxes will be back in action on February 6 when they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. body check tags ::
