Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Juventus attacker Matias Soule this summer.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough term in Serie A last season, when he spent 11 months out on loan at relegation-threatened Frosinone.

Following a tiresome and gruelling 38-game schedule, Soule and his temporary colleagues were unable to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

Despite the disappointment of relegation collectively at Frosinone, the young Juve loanee was a shining light, netting 11 goals and providing three assists in 36 Serie A contests.

Soule has limited experience of playing for his current parent club, turning out on 19 occasions for the Old Lady during the 2022-23 term, including three appearances in the Champions League.

Leicester target Soule 'says yes' to Foxes move

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport - via Sports Witness - Soule is prepared for a move away from Allianz Stadium this summer.

The report claims that the defender has 'said yes' to a switch to Premier League newcomers Leicester ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.

Although Soule is keen for a move to be finalised imminently, there is said to be difficulty in negotiations between the Foxes and the Old Lady.

Steve Cooper's side are supposedly willing to submit a first bid worth €25m (£21.5m) for the 21-year-old, who enjoyed his best-goalscoring campaign in professional football last season.

However, it is believed that Juventus are holding out for a higher valuation of the winger, with the Italians demanding €30m (£25.8m) plus add-ons for their academy graduate.

Serie A comparisons and Leicester's attack

Making the net ripple on 11 occasions in Serie A last term was a significant feat from Soule, who scored the same number of league goals as Manchester United-bound Joshua Zirkzee.

At just 21 years of age, the former Frosinone loanee has the potential to blossom into a Premier League star at the King Power Stadium under the excellent man-management of Cooper.

Competition for places in the starting XI would be fierce at first for Soule, with Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu excellent for Leicester as they cantered to automatic promotion last season.

With the ability to play centrally also, the Argentine could provide creativity in the engine room following the departure of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea. body check tags ::
