Two goals from Pedro Rios helped Levante to a comfortable 3-0 victory over FC Twente in Europa League Group L action tonight.
Michel had given the La Liga outfit a 60th-minute advantage before Rios made the result more emphatic with a late brace.
However, it was Twente who nearly struck the first blow as Belgian forward Nacer Chadli drilled a shot against the crossbar.
From then on it was largely Levante who dominated the proceedings, with Papakouli Diop twice forcing Twente keeper Nikolay Mihailov into fine saves.
Felipe Gutierrez and Theofanis Gekas wasted good chances either side of the break, before Douglas Franco's handball gifted Levante a penalty.
The responsibility of converting the spot kick was entrusted to Michel, who also supplied the corner for Rios to poke home the Spaniard's second.
The result was put beyond doubt three minutes from time when Rios struck low from eight yards after being found by Garcia Ruben.
