David Moyes was denied his first away win in charge of Real Sociedad as Levante netted an injury-time penalty to draw 1-1 this evening.
The first half was a quiet affair, although David Barral's incisive through ball almost opened up Sociedad in the 28th minute, when the visitors were able to scramble the ball clear under pressure.
Three minutes after the break, Sergio Canales put Sociedad ahead with a clinical finish which rebounded off the inside of the post before rolling into the back of the net.
Just three minutes after Canales's effort, Victor Casadesus somehow lashed the ball over the bar from six yards out to squander the opportunity to level the score.
Barral then planted a header over from a similar range, and Geronimo Rulli leapt to his left to keep out Andreas Ivanschitz's late header as it looked as though the visitors would hang on.
However, Carlos Martinez was penalised for handball inside the box and, with virtually the last kick of the game, Ivanschitz slotted the spot kick into the top corner to deny Moyes his first three La Liga points on the road.
