Levante president Quico Catalan has admitted that he is desperate for Keylor Navas to remain with the Spanish outfit this summer.
The Costa Rican is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in European football, with his performances over the last 12 months drawing interest from a host of clubs.
Another man-of-the-match display in Sunday's 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid further intensified the interest, but Catalan is still hopeful that an agreement can be reached over a new deal.
"Navas is a great goalkeeper and he has a contract. We've made every effort to extend his contract, we have yet to do so and I remain hopeful that we can come to an agreement," he told Canal+.
"Our desire is for him to continue with us because he's very important. He's made an impact because he's had a spectacular season. He's been sensational in several games. He spent three years in a team that went down to the Segunda B and Levante signed him."
Navas, 27, joined Levante from Albacete in 2012.
