Leyton Orient and Colchester are goalless at the break of their League One match despite the home side's dominance at Brisbane Road.
Neither side had any clear opportunities in the early stages with the O's having the lion's share of the possession.
Michael Patrasso was the most lively player on the pitch in the fairly quiet opening minutes. The winger, on loan from Queens Park Rangers, was causing the Colchester defence all sorts of problems with his darting runs.
It was all the home side in the first half and they came close in the 34th minute when Nathan Clarke's ball into the box failed to be converted by David Mooney, whose effort deflected wide.
Colchester captain Magnus Okuonghae was shown a straight red for a foul on Mooney a minute before the half-time whistle.
