Lille had the first effort on target after 12 minutes when Marvin Martin drove forward, however his strike was saved well by the goalkeeper.
Moustapha Bayal Sall had the away side's first attempt on goal five minutes later, though his headed effort was cleared by the defence.
The home side were then given the opportunity to take the lead when the referee awarded them a penalty on 37 minutes. Salamon Kalou stepped up and made no mistake, slotting it home to make it 1-0.
Lille continued to pile on the pressure towards the end of the first half, with Martin coming close once again on 44 minutes.
Ten minutes into the second half, Idriss Saadi had an effort on goal, though his shot went just wide of the mark.
Ronny Rodelin had a strike on target for Lille on 66 minutes, but the goalkeeper was equal to it.
Lille pushed forward in search of a second goal to secure the points and came close on 86 minutes, but Idrissa Gana Gueye could only put his chance wide of the mark.
