Ahead of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg between Bayern Munich and Liverpool, strong>Sports Mole looks at how the Reds may line up.

Liverpool head to German champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening with their Champions League last-16 tie on a knife-edge following a goalless first leg.

The Reds wasted a few good opportunities in the reverse fixture at Anfield three weeks ago, but one goal may well be enough for them at the Allianz Arena, meaning Bayern would have to score twice.

After fielding a makeshift backline in the opening 90 minutes, Jurgen Klopp's side will be nearer to full strength for this trip to Bavaria.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool may line up for this huge European match.

Out: Joe Gomez (ankle), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (ankle)
Doubtful: Trent Alexander-Arnold (muscle), James Milner (muscle)

Liverpool will have star defender Virgil van Dijk back for this second leg, with the Dutchman missing the stalemate at Anfield because of suspension.

Dejan Lovren is also closing in on a return but, despite being named among the subs against Burnley at the weekend, Joel Matip is expected to get the nod alongside Van Dijk here.

Milner missed that 1-0 victory on Sunday with a muscle problem, which also forced Alexander-Arnold off the field before the end, though both are likely to be in contention to start this match.

Following a flat display in the first leg, changes are expected in central midfield, with Fabinho in line to return to a more advanced position after filling in at centre-back.

A good performance from Adam Lallana last time out will do his chances of starting this crucial match no harm, but he will likely be seen as more of a game-changing option from the bench.

Meanwhile, the front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino is almost certain to remain unchanged.
