Liverpool have reportedly been dealt a blow ahead of the Champions League final after Joe Gomez underwent surgery on an ankle injury.
In March, Gomez sustained an ankle injury during England's friendly with the Netherlands and it led to the 20-year-old missing a month of action.
Gomez returned to feature in two Premier League games for Liverpool but the youngster has been absent since the fixture with Stoke City, and according to Sky Sports News, it has resulted in Liverpool needing to take action.
The versatile defender has allegedly undergone an operation on the problem, meaning that the player will be absent from the final top-flight game with Brighton & Hove Albion and the meeting with Real Madrid in Kiev.
As it stands, it remains unclear whether Gomez will be available to feature in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the World Cup.
