Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are both in contention to feature in Wednesday's Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.
Thiago has been on the sidelines since sustaining a calf injury against Crystal Palace in September, while Fabinho has been struggling with a knee injury in recent weeks.
Klopp has been forced to work around an injury crisis in midfield over his side's past few games, but the Reds boss has been able to deliver a positive update on the pair.
Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: "Fabinho and Thiago trained completely normally and are in contention, which is good obviously. It's very helpful and so we will see.
"Injuries [in this] period of the season are completely normal, as long as they are not too harsh we have to accept that. The players will be back, hopefully soon, and then they are in contention again as well. But for tomorrow only the fit players, obviously."
However, Klopp admitted that Naby Keita would be "out for a while" with the hamstring injury he sustained against Brighton & Hove Albion.
