Adam Lallana has been included in Liverpool's squad for Wednesday evening's Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma.
The England international was initially expected to miss the remainder of the campaign, including this summer's World Cup, after suffering a hamstring injury in his comeback game against Crystal Palace at the end of March.
Lallana has been restricted to just 64 minutes of action for club and country since playing a full part in the Reds' goalless draw with Porto in the last-16 stage of the Champions League nearly two months ago.
Liverpool have since overcome Manchester City in the quarters and are 5-2 up against Roma heading into the reverse fixture - a match that could see the 29-year-old make his latest return.
Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also included in the 23-man squad for the clash at the Stadio Olimpico, as is Sadio Mane who has also been carrying a minor knock.
Liverpool squad to face Roma: Karius, Clyne, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Firmino, Salah, Henderson, Klavan, Moreno, Mane, Lallana, Mignolet, Robertson, Ings, Solanke, Jones, Ward, Woodburn, Masterson, Camacho, Alexander-Arnold
