Adam Lallana has claimed that a spirited Liverpool display against Real Madrid can act as a catalyst for them to secure the back-to-back victories needed to make the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Reds were beaten 1-0 by the European champions on Tuesday evening and now need six points from games with Ludogorets and Basel to secure their place in the knockout stages.
The former Southampton captain told ITV Sport: "We had a couple of half-chances and we were in it until the last minute and we showed we've got fight.
"We showed that we have got fight and we were in it till the end. We've got to win our last two games and we're confident [we can qualify].
"We know we've been struggling lately but we've got characters in the squad so we'll dig in."
