Conor Masterson has described featuring in the Liverpool squad that recorded a 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League as "surreal".
With Liverpool struggling for numbers in central defence, youngster Masterson was included in the 18-man group for the first leg of the quarter-final tie against the Premier League leaders.
Masterson remained an unused substitute, but the Irishman has admitted that it had been an "unbelievable" experience to be involved on a European night at Anfield.
The 19-year-old is quoted by the Irish Mirror as saying: "It was an unbelievable experience just going out to warm up, you could just see the fans and the atmosphere. It was just surreal really.
"The team were unbelievable, the performance, 3-0 against the best team in the country was just unbelievable. I knew last night [I was going to be involved]. Klopp came up and told me."
With Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan out injured, Masterson could potentially remain on the bench for Saturday's Merseyside derby with Everton.
