Maribor midfielder Aleks Pihler has claimed that he and his teammates will use their positive home record against English teams to boost them for Tuesday's Champions League group match against Liverpool.
The Slovenian outfit will welcome Jurgen Klopp's men to their home turf on the back of an unbeaten run against England-based clubs.
Maribor currently sit at the bottom of Group E on just one point, while the Reds are second on two, but neither side have won a game yet.
"We have a good record against English teams, in European competition, with one home win and two draws," The Mirror quotes Pihler as saying. "We can be optimistic. I hope this fact will give the players an extra lift on the field. Every little bit helps.
"They can have problems when they lose the ball, that could be our opportunity, but they have quality and pace. We have to be persistent and patient. We need to fight, help each other, adapt."
The Purples have scored just one goal so far in the group phase of the competition.
