Stefan Savic has said that Atletico Madrid will not be in awe of in-form Liverpool during the Champions League last-16 tie between the two clubs.
While Liverpool sit 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, Atletico are fourth in La Liga, 13 points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.
However, despite their contrasting fortunes on the domestic scene, Savic has talked up Atletico's chances of causing an upset against the European champions.
Speaking to El Mundo, the centre-back said: "We do not have any pessimism. We have shown in the past that we never give up. We have always competed very well against larger teams.
"We probably are underdogs because of form at the moment, but I don't think they are very calm. They know that we compete very well and that we are a tough opponent for anyone.
"Liverpool have a very important and dangerous attack. But not only them, also those of the second wave of attack. They always arrive at the goal and you have to try to stop them."
Liverpool will be returning to the Wanda Metropolitano after lifting the Champions League trophy at the stadium as recently as June.
