Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has insisted that the club's fans have been "waiting for a moment like this" as the Reds prepare to face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp's charges are aiming for their first major European crown since a remarkable win against AC Milan in Istanbul in 2005, and Wijnaldum has called on his teammates to provide another defining moment for the Merseyside club.
"We're a great club with great supporters, waiting for a moment like this. I hope we can give the club and the supporters, and of course ourselves, the win over Real Madrid," Wijnaldum told reporters.
"I think really important for us as players but also for the club, the supporters, I think for everyone.
"We worked really hard to get here during the years so it's always good if you receive something when you've worked hard."
Liverpool have five Champions League titles to their name, while La Liga giants Real have won the competition a record 12 times.
