Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Steven Gerrard will play no part in Thursday's Europa League last-32 clash against Besiktas at Anfield.
The former England skipper has been struggling with a hamstring complaint since the Reds' 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last Tuesday.
As expected, Thursday's encounter has come too early for Gerrard, who will call an end to his Liverpool career when he signs for Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer.
"He won't have a chance for tomorrow and we just need to assess on a daily basis where Steven is at," Rodgers said in a press conference.
Lazar Markovic will also be unavailable as he is due to serve a four-match ban following his sending-off in the Champions League earlier in the season.
