Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has called on his teammates to replicate their Europa League quarter-final performance against Borussia Dortmund when they welcome Villarreal to Anfield next week.
The Reds needed three goals in the final half-hour to progress in the last round, but a memorable comeback saw them do exactly that to knock the tournament favourites out and reach the semi-finals.
Liverpool now need another comeback after falling to a late 1-0 defeat at the hands of Villarreal in the first leg at El Madrigal this evening, but Toure insists that his side are capable of pulling it off.
"There is another game, we had chances to score. We showed against Dortmund we can respond," he told BT Sport.
"We know we can do it, we just need to believe. We just need to learn from the mistakes and play the same game we did against Dortmund."
Liverpool successfully kept Villarreal at bay for much of the match, but their defence was split open in stoppage time as Denis Suarez set up Adrian Lopez to score the winner.
"It was a great ball put in. We can do better defending that but we look for positives now," Toure added.
Liverpool's defeat was their first of this season's competition, ending a record-breaking 12-match unbeaten streak.
