West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has claimed that his side deserved their dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool in their FA Cup fourth-round replay this evening.
The action-packed match at Upton Park looked to be heading for penalties after Philippe Coutinho had cancelled out Michail Antonio's opener, but Angelo Ogbonna was the unlikely hero with a 121st-minute winner.
Bilic hailed the match as one of the greatest in the history of the club, and believes that his side's performance on the night was good enough to beat any of England's top sides.
"I can explain my feelings, and I can't at the same time. It is great, for me a really great game of football. It was a classic FA Cup tie," Bilic is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"It will go into the history of West Ham's greatest games. Liverpool, last season at Upton Park, night kickoff, goal in the last minute. And we deserved it, I am very proud of the guys. They left their heart on the pitch.
"The goal came as the cherry on the pie of [Ogbonna's] game. He was magnificent as a centre-half. They made the fans proud of them and we want to progress even further. If we produce a performance like this then we are capable of beating any team in England."
West Ham will now face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the fifth round.
