Gary Bowyer lamented official Kevin Friend's decision to turn away a spot-kick appeal from Blackburn Rovers as they lost 1-0 to Liverpool in an FA Cup quarter-final replay at Ewood Park on Wednesday evening.
Simon Mignolet denied Tom Cairney two minutes into the second half, but the ball appeared to clip Joe Allen on its way through to the Belgium goalkeeper, and Bowyer was adamant that it should have been given.
The Blackburn boss told BT Sport: "I always said we would have a go at Liverpool and everyone saw that.
"We are a little bit disappointed that the penalty decision didn't go our way. Joe Allen's arm is out in a natural position. There are two great saves - from Allen then Mignolet."
Liverpool will meet Aston Villa at Wembley for a place in the final later this month.
