Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that he hopes that his side's FA Cup victory over Blackburn Rovers will help the Reds kick on in the Premier League.
A solitary effort from Philippe Coutinho ensured that the Anfield club will travel to Wembley for the semi-finals, with Rodgers now looking for a reaction following two straight defeats in the league.
"I made the point to the players if we could get through to the semi-final it could give us a kick on in the league," said Rodgers, according to BBC Sport.
"We have had two poor performances and been criticised. Tonight we performed very well."
Liverpool currently occupy fifth position in the English top flight, with 54 points from 31 games this season.
